Avoid Expensive Repairs with Planned Maintenance

People often ask us, "How can I avoid expensive furnace and AC repairs? The answer is simple: Planned Maintenance.

Just like your car requires tune-ups and oil changes, your furnace, heat pump and air conditioning unit require regular maintenance to prevent components from from failing. When you sign up for Alpine Aire's Planned Maintenance Program, you will be scheduled twice yearly for a HVAC system checkup.

Alpine Aire has installed air conditioning in two of my houses and has maintained my heating system for years. I am very happy with the service I received as well as the value. Having kids, another nice point was the guys who came to do the work were very polite and made me feel very comfortable with them in the house. I’ll call them whenever I need another system and for all my regular maintenance.

The maintenance is usually completed in an hour and includes the following:

  • Complete check of your indoor and outdoor units
  • A clean and oil of indoor and outdoor motors to reduce unnecessary motor fatigue
  • A check of indoor and outdoor coils
  • A check of accessory items such as humidifiers, electronic air cleaners or UV lights
  • A cleaning or replacement of filters

This thorough diagnosis of system components makes it easy to find and fix small problems before they turn into large (and expensive!) ones. Give us a call if you'd like to learn more about our planned maintenance program.

How often should I change my filter?

Generally most filters should be changed every 1-2 months. Your filter may need to be changed more often than this depending on the quality of air in your home.

It is a good idea to regularly inspect your filter for signs of dirt and/or damage. If it looks dirty, then it is no longer doing its job and needs to be replaced.

Other filters, like the 4" pleated filters, need to be changed less often (approximately every 4-5 months).

Electronic air filters never need to be replaced! However, these filters should be cleaned regularly. Planned Maintenance customers will automatically receive this service during their scheduled appointment.
